CBD: From Skeptic to Advocate
I’ve spent all week trying to figure out how to write this experience and share it with you all. Because here’s the deal: I was a CBD skeptic. I don’t know why, but I had this idea in my mind of the kind of person who uses CBD and I just didn’t think I needed to be one of them.
This week I was standing in a looong line at convention waiting to give the CBD products a look and learn more about them. I get anxious in long lines. In big crowds. On airplanes. At night when I’m the only one home in charge of my babies. All. The. Time. And I’m so used to what that feels like it just seems normal.
But as I’m standing in that line someone was asking everyone if they wanted to give the Calming CBD roll on a try. So I said yes. She swiped some onto my wrists, I rubbed them together, went back to standing in line and chatting with friends.
3 minutes later something felt different. I checked my watch, which monitors my heart rate. I’m consistently at 100bpm or more when I’m anxious. And that’s pretty often for me.
My heart rate had dropped to 81bpm during that 3 minute time frame. I’ve never had a heart rate like that in crowds. If anything, my watch alerts me that my heart rate is high and I should take some deep breaths. This is crazy to me.
There are no words to describe the feeling of peace and comfort that had washed over me. I stood there on the verge of happy tears for another 20 minutes. So you better believe I bought that roll on. Because I’m 4.5 years into motherhood and I’ve never felt that calm.
Monday this stuff will be available to the masses. And I can’t wait to share it with the world.
So what IS CBD? CBD stands for Cannabidiol, one of the primary natural cannabinoids found in the industrial hemp plant. CBD primarily interactive with your body’s Endocannabinoid System (ECS), which regulates processes in the body such as appetite, pain, mood, memory, peripheral nervous system, and more. In each tissue CBD performs different tasks, but the overall goal is always the same: homeostasis (stability or balance in a system).
It’s important to know that CBD Oil is not “weed” and will not get you high! Our CBD is completely THC-free. THC is also found in the cannabis plant, but the two are different. CBD is not psychoactive and does not cause the euphoric side effects commonly associated with THC. CBD is legal in all 50 states and wont show up on a drug test!
Are hemp and marijuana the same?? No! Both are plants within the cannabis plant family, but hemp is completely different from marijuana in its function, cultivation and application.
